Who We Are
The Louisiana Movement is an organization striving for a more inclusive, empowered, and progressive Louisiana.
- Inclusive because we reject manipulation based on the classic divide and conquer strategies that have pitted citizens against each other by class, race, gender, age and disability.
- Empowered because we believe we will never achieve inclusivity without recognizing and building the power within each of us as individuals and as a collective.
- Progressive because we embrace the following basic tenets of the progressive movement:
1) anti-corruption on all fronts
2) pro-inclusion of citizens directly into the political process
3) and government ability to act on behalf of the citizens it serves by enabling fairness in economic and social matters when other methods of enablement (or lack thereof) have proven ineffective or corrupt.
We hold the following issues to be of primary concern: Economy, Education, Environment, Equity, Healthcare, and the Arts as a tool to educate.
To this end, we will function in the following capacities:
1) Coalition Building
We actively seek to develop coalitions with organizations whose mission is to develop inclusivity and empowerment.
2) Active Political Party Involvment
Members will actively be involved in their respective parties. (Yes, we encourage members to push an inclusive and empowered framework in ANY party. We choose not to restrict the organization to any political label understanding that such action has the ability to create blind sighted paradigms.)
3) Policy Advocacy
4) Diversity Literacy
5) Research
We are in Phase I: The Incubation.
Stay posted for when we will shift into Phase II: The Implementation...
